Athletics Day

Athletics description:

YAY IT'S THE DAY I GET TO SHOW MY TALENT… WAIT WHAT IS IT… ITS ATHLETICS DAY!!

SEE -

I could see parents screaming at there children and saying “YAY”. I could see the teams chanting proud when they walked around the bike track. I could see Miss kyla putting on different music for the kids so they can dance to it. I could see teachers high fiving the kids when they finished their race.

 HEAR -

The hard sound of the kids chants away there. I heard the people cheering on the other teams even though they weren't in that team.  I heard the hard footsteps as I was and running. I could hear the teams cheering the people that are in there team.

SMELL -

I could smell the tasty sausage sizzle as my team walked around the bike track. I could smell the delicious food that my family members brought for me. I could smell the fresh breeze that was soaking up in the face. I could smell the cut grass when I sat down to rest.

FEEL -

I could feel the sweat dripping down my skin like an ice cream melting. As I stepped on the ground it felt like lava. I could feel the smooth grass that was rubbing against my feet. I could feel the sunblock racing down my back.

TASTE -

I could taste victory inside of my mouth as I crossed the finish line. I could taste the butterflies in my stonich as Miss Areen said GO! I could taste the fresh air inside my mouth and body. I could taste the cold ice block as I bit on it.

CONCLUSION -

MY TEAM WON WO HOOO it was exciting but the really important thing was having fun.

Current events T4W7

This is my current events that I did and i talk about Jonah Lomu's death. He was a great man but he died for some reason which was his kidneys. I hope you like my current events!

Today I wanted to play sumdog because I haven't played it in a long time. I played street racer and I came second. The next game I played, I came second again. So that tells I need to practice more.

Malganga fiafia night

Last night Tamaki Primary had the first whole school fiafia night at the intermediate hall. We did this because we had to raise money for the year 6 and 7 camp. When my group went on the stage I felt nervous because my family was here and they were watching me.  I favourite bit was when the ballet group did there ruteen because the song that they were dancing to was "do you wanna build a snowman" and plus the little kids looked cute in there costumes. I also liked how the drama group tried there best to talk without their papers.

I really liked the fiafia night and I hope we can do I again.

Duffy role models

Today we had a DUFFY ROLE MODEL assembly and our role models were Nate and Lily. Nate and Lily are from the morning show called MAI FM. The two key messages I learned were...

If you read a lot it will help you learn more, and If you learn more, you will have more options in your life and the other one was...

Aswell as playing games, read books so that you can be a future role model.

Adam from summerville

Today we had Adam from summerville come to join us for ART! We were drawing sharks, after reading. Adam really joined hanging with us in room 9. He was going to stay here for 5 minutes but it turns out he stayed here for an hour. It was great having Adam in the classroom. 

Art - Making a shark

Today for art we drew a shark from a book and we had to think of some things that your shark eats. I put it in Tongan because it is Tongan language week. Some people helped me on this because I don't know how to speak Tongan.  Here is a Google drawing of my shark and what it eats.

Midge might be playing outside and it starts raining and the thunder starts poring. The owner stands under shelter and Midge starts to play in the thunder because he thought that the lightning was a big torch and was flashing at him.

Comparing texts T2W3

In reading I was finding some information about the book " No big deal " and " Living in a colourful world." This is what I did when I was comparing the texts.

Sio the snake

n maths my group we had to solve a problem using measurement. When I was trying to solve it, I noticed that it was going in a pattern. I noticed that 12cm x 8 cm = 96 because the 12 came from the cm and 8 the 8 came from the minutes and I got the 96 from when I was skip counting in 12s. That is how I solved it.

We were writing about what we did at the beach in Pt England. We had to do haka and 2 songs. To write about it we used our 5 senses and they were See, Smell, Feel, Hear and taste.
