Kiwisport - Boxing!

Kiwisport - Boxing:
Kia ora and welcome back to my blog!

IALT: Write about what we did at Boxing today

Today we had Boxing with Pax our coach and this week we learnt 2 new moves which is the hook and the uppercut. We had to get into partners and I decided to work with someone that I don't normally spend my time with so I decided to work with Stephney. While she was punching the gloves, we started to get faster and faster then Pax came to us and we thought that we were going to get a growling because where meant to stay on her count but we got to into it the we lost count but we didn't get a growling. All she said was it's fine keep going!!

One thing that I really enjoyed today at Boxing was learning new moves such as the hook and the uppercut because we also did a combo which was jab, cross, left hook, right hook, left uppercut and right uppercut. But I think the most challenging part was that we had to do the combo really fast and my arms were going ALL over the place which was really funny. One thing I learnt was that while your punching, twist your body so you get more power in the punch.

IALT: Reflect about Kiwisport today

Today we had Kiwisport which is Boxing! We will be doing Boxing for 6 weeks with our coach Pat. One thing that I really enjoyed in this session was that it was really cool and fun trying a sport that I don't normally do! One thing that I didn't really enjoy was that my hands were getting very sweaty in the Boxing gloves but lucky that we wore these gloves first so that when our hands sweat, it wont make the Boxing gloves stink or wet. One thing that I learnt in Boxing today were the 3 commandments which are:

Respect:
I will have respect for myself, our coach, our peers and the sport of Boxing.

Discipline:
I will have the discipline to turn up to every Boxing session and give %100 my all.

Safety:
I will not cause harm to others and only practice Boxing in a safe environment under the guidance of a coach.

Kiwisport + Volleyball Reflection

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog!

WALT: Reflect about Kiwisport + Volleyball!

How do you feel about Kiwisport this week? Why? (Give at least 2 reasons)
In this session with Peter,

I really liked when we had to do a rally and we had to see who wins. Myself and my friend Constance we kind of arguing because we were trying to figure out who got the point. I also really enjoyed participating and having fun since that was our last session!
Nextime, I think I need to keep working on hitting the ball a bit softer because it was kind of going all over the place and not toward my partner. I think I also need to work no trying to be overconfident.

____________________________________________________________________________

This week, I learned about how to serve the ball properly to my opponents. Another thing that I learned was how to hit the ball using my arms and also bending my legs so I am able to get under the ball and hit it up!

1 thing that I think I need to improve on is actually in Volleyball is keeping to my space because a lot of the time I am moving around the hole place and not staying where I'm meant to be. Another thing that I think I need to work on in Volleyball is actually watching the ball because I know that I have to be ready and have to watch the ball to see if it's coming my way!

While we are practicing Volleyball, I would like to do more of is serving because it is quite hard to serve from far away. I also want to do more of playing real volleyball games so I can be able to see what I need to work on!

Kiwisport - Tennis!

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog!

IALT: Reflect on Kiwisport!

Today we got split up into our home groups. Onve group went to kiwisport and the other group had cricket.

In this kiwisport lesson, we had a rally which is like a challenge but you have cards where you pick one. On that card it has a number. If you get that number, you have to try and hit the ball to your partner without dropping it. If it's a Jack, Queen or King, then that means that you have to try and get ten hits without dropping the ball.

I really enjoyed this kiwisport lesson today because I got to hang out with a lot of other students that I don't normally hang out with such as Stephney, Mahara and Amon.

Here is a picture of our kiwisport lesson:

I also made a google drawing reflecting about kiwisport.

Kiwisport & Softball reflection

Kia ora and welcome back to my blog!
Yesterday we got into our home groups  and one group did kiwisport and the other group did Softball. In kiwisport our sport that we are learning is tennis and I learnt about how to bat properly by using your forehand and backhand swings.

In Softball, I learnt how to catch the glove when being on one of the bases. This week we are having a Softball tournament and by playing Softball, it's helping me get better and better when I keep learning. One thing that I think I'm good at in Softball is being on base one where I can get people out quite easily if someone passes it to me properly.

Here are some pictures of what we did Yesterday!

Thanks for reading and please comment on my blog!
