IALT: Discover what Abstract art is/means

Image result for abstract artThis week we have been learning about abstract art because we will be going to the Te Tuhi Art Gallery in a next week. We got shown a few paintings that are abstract art and they weren't very clear to see. Abstract art is when you are using different shapes, colours, sizes and forms and turning it into artwork.

We are learning about Abstract art because it's something that is different and when you are making it, you are using different shapes and sizes to represent something. Abstract means using shapes, colour and size to create a painting that represents what you have done. When creating abstract art, the technology that you are using are paint brushes, shapes, material etc.

WALH: To make something abstract!

Today we have done our 2nd lesson on abstract art. We saw some pictures that were transformed into abstract art using shapes. One thing that caught my eye was the laptop because they tried to make it kind of slant and had the laptop open. We looked at the basic shapes that were used to create something abstract.

WALA: Technology people use for abstract art!

Today we have done our 3rd lesson about the different types of technology that people use for abstract art and what technology people used years ago until now. I found out that paint brushes, measuring tape, ruler, pencils, canvas etc are the things that people use to make abstract art. I also found out that they used different cameras in the olden days but now we use phones, upgrades cameras etc to take photos/selfies. I think that when artist are creating art, it might be really hard because they have to be creative and use the different objects around the room to create something!

One thing that I am looking forward at Te Tuhi is maybe making my own abstract art where I get to be creative! I am also looking forward to seeing the different abstract art that people have made!

QUESTION: Have you made abstract art before?

Please comment on my blog!

MANY THANKS
